Homework
This is my homework, and Eather’s too.
Eather’s been in elementary school for a month now, and to make sure she gets to school “on time,” we’ve been forcing, scolding, and yelling at her every day. But even so, she still hasn’t learned or adjusted. This Monday, we changed tactics—“let her be.” No rushing, no scolding, let her take responsibility for being “late.” As expected, she’s been late twice.
Don’t exasperate your children. This is the teaching from the Bible. How can we wisely guide our kids to become independent? Punishment is a very negative form of discipline. I need help.
Also, I really need to learn to “control my anger.” With everyone else, I can manage my emotions, but with my kids, I’m “utterly reckless.” God, help me.
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. — Ephesians 6:4
