What to Write?
I’ve opened up the WP dashboard several times, always wanting to jot something down. When it comes to design ideas, they often feel shallow, scattered, not quite worth sharing. As for life, it’s just the usual everyday stuff, and chattering on about that can get dull.
But I’ll write a bit, if only to let friends who care about me know I’m still kicking and doing alright.
I changed jobs, now at a company called Mammoth Technology. Honestly, I’m excited about this company. While everything isn’t perfect yet, every start has its rough patches. I’m patient and ready for it.
The work is busy. Although much of the hustle feels wasted, these are the necessary costs of team building, growing together, and streamlining workflows.
The passion is still there. Last Friday, I told Misa I wanted to redesign the company’s logo—there are so many issues with the current one. Over the weekend, I worked tirelessly for two days and nights (still went to church Sunday morning) and submitted a brand-new logo proposal on Monday, including related applications (like business cards, product packaging, and system interfaces). Printed new business cards too. Cut them myself. Holding them in my hand was incredibly satisfying—the joy of design.
As the company plans to expand rapidly, I’ve been thinking a lot about team building. Even though I’m not in that leadership role, I hope Mammoth does well. For the team as a whole, my expectation is: low-profile style, strong products. For the design team, I hope for passion, atmosphere, and motivation.
Although there are many opportunities within the company, I’ve made it clear that my work doesn’t revolve around the boss—it’s centered on God.
On May 17th, my wife and the kids went back to our hometown in Changsha for two months. During this time, I need to make some good plans.
