A Few Thoughts

Honestly, I’m highly driven, especially at work. Back in 2006 at Baomihua, I was always thinking about how to compete with Tudou, how to be the best, doing my utmost. But it was the leaders’ understanding and beliefs that set the company’s direction. The company’s direction shaped its culture: restless and opportunistic. Company culture impacts the work atmosphere, style, and morale of the employees. My enthusiasm eventually cooled. Years of working life have taught me that if you’re a low-ranking soldier without a voice, it’s hard to change anything, let alone turn the tide.

I’m selfish; I don’t want to waste my youth on a struggle where the outcome is already decided. So, I chose to leave. Now, Baomihua has reached its end.

Currently, I’m at JiuTian. I once had great confidence there, accomplished many things, and felt fulfilled. But has the situation changed? It’s been ten years. Some companies remain young and vibrant, but here, it’s old and creaky. If I can’t change anything, then it’s time to leave.

Don’t ask me what my life plan is! Don’t ask what the meaning of design is! The person asking the question might not even know the answer.

All I want is a platform to realize my dreams. My ideal company would be:

  • Focused, from leadership to employees!
  • No infighting for interests!
  • No overtime!
  • Fresh air throughout the company, no smell of smoke, no meeting room turned into a smoking room.
