Life Without Limbs

Quote:

I came across a short film titled Life Without Limbs, which moved me deeply. I’m sharing it here for others.

The protagonist of this film is named Nick. He’s a 24-year-old from Australia. Born without limbs—no arms from the shoulders, no legs from the hips. His mother is a nurse, and his father is a pastor. There’s no history of disability in their families, and during his mother’s pregnancy, she followed all the necessary precautions. Yet, having a child with such a condition was a huge blow and challenge for them. When he was four months old, they brought him home and raised him. He has one brother and one sister, both perfectly healthy.

Now, Nick can live independently, walk on his own, climb stairs, get up and wash himself, swim, turn on electrical switches, and operate a computer, typing 43 words per minute. He holds degrees in accounting and financial planning. Since the age of 19, he’s dedicated himself to preaching, sharing the gospel in over ten countries across Asia, Africa, and the Americas, reaching millions. Many have repented and turned to God because of his testimony.

At age eight, he hit a low point. He prayed for God to give him limbs, but God didn’t. He felt discouraged, but now he understands that his condition itself is a miracle from God.

God gave faith to him and his parents, helping them see His great love and understand His good purpose. They didn’t blame fate or lose heart, overcoming many obstacles. If you watch this short film, in Nick’s conversation with the pastor, you can sense God’s presence—He is a true and living God. Nick’s genuine smile, the joy that comes from God, should humble those of us with healthy bodies. Nick doesn’t need pity or sympathy; instead, he vividly illustrates the great love of Jesus Christ to the world. His English is spoken so clearly that, with subtitles, anyone can follow along easily.
